Puffins and Penguins Weekly Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers
What an exciting week we have had. We were lucky enough to have a visit from some fire fighters who brought a real fire engine and equipment with them. We got to go inside the fire engine and even got to squirt the water!
We will continue with our theme about ‘People who help us’ next week, beginning with a visit from the Police! Mr Hoare has kindly offered to come in to talk to the children about the role of the Police and he may bring a police vehicle along with him! We will also be having a visit from the Paramedics with an ambulance. Finally Mr Kies will be bringing his Mountain Rescue kit in to talk to the Children about safety on the moors. As you can imagine the children are having a very exciting time and we are using this enthusiasm to extend their learning within the classroom.
In maths we will be introducing doubling and halving.
Ideas for supporting your child’s learning at home this week.
This week our home learning was set by the visiting fire fighters:
- Learn your postcode so that you know it if you ever need to call the fire brigade to your house!
- Talk to your children about your smoke alarms and what they are for. Plan an escape route in case of a fire.
Many Thanks
