Unit 4 Visit the Houses of Parliament

On Wednesday 22nd January, Unit 4 visited the Houses of Parliament as part of their ‘Does My Vote Count?’ Learning Experience. It was a fantastic trip, which included a tour around the Palace of Westminster, a workshop on campaigning, and a surprise Q and A with our MP Kevin Foster (he managed to squeeze us in between Prime Ministers Questions and another parliamentary meeting). The children had a brilliant day and learnt a lot about how our country is governed through a democratic system, and the powers they have as citizens of the United Kingdom to campaign for change. Many of the children were in awe of just being in the building with Edward sharing, “I can’t believe I’m actually in the Houses of Parliament!” Well done Unit 4 for a successful trip!
