Learning Experience

The children have observed the caterpillars shedding their exoskeletons and they have now climbed to the top of their cup and are hanging in a j shape ready to pupate. This is when the caterpillars will begin forming a hard chrysalis enclosure. Half term has come at the perfect time as the caterpillars will have peace and quiet to transform into butterflies. Within the chrysalis old caterpillar tissues are being broken down and rearranged to form the completely different cells, tissues, and organs of the mature butterfly.

When we return on Tuesday 8th June they will hopefully begin to emerge from their chrysalides.

Lego Discover – Playmakers Session 10

 Celebration Event

This week was the final Lego Discover session and the children created their obstacle courses using all their knowledge and experiences from the previous sessions. We were very impressed with their ideas and proud of their individual achievements. The children reflected on the skills they had used during the programme and how they will be able to transfer those skills to other tasks in school and at home. Some of the children said:

"When I am playing I will listen to my friends ideas.", "When I find things tricky I will not give up. I will try again.", "I can work as a team with my family to keep the house tidy."

We celebrated their achievements and every child received a certificate. We will be creating a video montage of their Lego Discover journey and will post it on Seesaw for you to enjoy at home.
