Dear parents,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support this year.

It is an honour to be part of your child’s school journey; we have many fond memories from the year. The children are looking forward to sharing some of their memories in the ‘Celebration Show’ tomorrow (Tuesday 25^th July) at 2.30pm in the school hall.

Transition to Year 1

On Thursday and Friday last week the children spent time with their new class and their new teacher. We feel that this enhanced transition has made the children feel more secure and excited about the move to Year 1. The children came back to Puffins and Penguins at the end of each day excited to tell us about the activities they have taken part in. They have also made new friendships with the Year 2 children who will be in the classroom with them. It is an exciting time, and we have given the children many opportunities to talk about their feelings regarding the coming changes. This transition will make the first few days of September run smoothly as children will have already experienced their new class and met their new teacher.

 

Beach trips

As reward for all their hard work and achievements, Puffins and Penguins classes visited Preston beach. (Please see the newsletter on the website to view some photographs.) The children had lots of fun playing with their friends, building sandcastles, digging moats, and creating sand sculptures. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of their year in Foundation.
