Foundation Stage Newsletter 12th January 2018
Dear Parents and Carers
Firstly, we hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. Thank you for all of your kind cards and gifts we were overwhelmed with the thoughtfulness of our parents. Well done to all of the children for the calm and happy way they have returned to school, it is always a difficult return.
Next week we are looking at fantasy Superheroes. We will be using our imaginations to work out what kind of super powers we would like to have. We will also explore story-telling and the children can create their own super stories. It would be really helpful if you could talk to your child about superheroes. On Wednesday we will be celebrating our learning with a superhero dress up day (these can be Spiderman or an everyday superhero such as a nurse).
In maths we will continue to count to different quantities and match amounts and numerals. Concentrating on that all important counting backwards! We will be focusing on adding two numbers by holding the first number in our head and counting on.
Ideas for supporting your child’s learning at home:
This week we will be putting your child’s new targets into their red books – please work on these targets with your child, as achieving these will enable your child to reach the next stage in their development.
There is a target for Reading, Writing and Maths. If you need any support/ideas with how you can help with these targets please come and talk to one of us.
Many Thanks
