Our Environment
Our school grounds can offer a rich learning environment, extending and deepening what is taught indoors. At Preston Primary we are passionate about using outdoor learning as it helps build children’s personal character.

We endeavour, where possible to take our learning outside into our extensive grounds.
Our Swimming Pool
At Preston, we have our very own heated outdoor swimming pool. We can see the sea from the classroom windows, so we must make sure our children are water safe. All children from Foundation Stage to Year 6 have weekly swimming lessons in the summer term, which help build confidence, self-awareness and teamwork.

Our Pop-up Cafe
All our children work hard on their school values throughout the year. The children in Foundation Stage celebrate earning house points by transforming the Pop-up Cafe to a Numicon Cafe. Each child is given a ten numicon piece (to represent the 10 house point certificate) and they are able to spend this in the Numicon Cafe. Each item for sale has a numicon price. The children have great fun deciding what to buy! Our wonderful Friends of Preston Primary School (FOPPS) open our Pop-up Cafe at the end of the school day throughout the year. Families can buy ice lollies, tea, coffee and cake!

Our School Animals
In school we have our own rabbit and guinea pig. By looking after our school animals, we teach children about responsibility and caring with compassion. We also have a therapy dog visit our school each week called Molly to support the well-being of some of our children.

Our Woodland Camp
Our Woodland Camp is a special place, a place for children to show their school values and develop their personal character. A place to play and have lots of fun. Characters are developed as the children explore, problem solve and risk take together while being inspired by the world and gaining a great understanding of how they, as a learner fits within it.
