Science
Our Science curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity and critical thinking, encouraging pupils to observe, develop their enquiry skills, and explore and investigate their questions by working scientifically. Pupils will explore the work and discoveries of famous scientists.

At Preston, we aim to develop confident and adaptable young scientists, equipping them with skills to effectively use scientific equipment and fostering their curiosity about the world. Through hands-on lessons and outdoor exploration, including our Woodland Camp, pupils gain practical skills in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This approach builds confidence and prepares them for secondary school science.
Our curriculum ensures children understand science's relevance in society and the future. They are encouraged to critically evaluate information, explore the reliability of sources, and develop an inquisitive mindset. We focus on questioning, hypothesising, testing, and analysing both living and non-living things, empowering children to draw conclusions and share their findings confidently.
