Football Match Report
Teamwork and Determination

It was a challenging first outing for a year 5/6 boys football team as they faced a 5-0 defeat against experienced team, Curledge Street. Despite the score, the game was filled with determination, effort, and resilience. The boys did not give up and played a great match. They supported and encouraged one another and, most importantly, they had fun.
From the kick-off, Preston showed their strength, defending well and creating some opportunities and near misses. At the end of the first third the score stood at 0-0.
The rest of the match saw some bright moments for our team, with some impressive runs forward, strong midfield play, and some awesome defence. However, the opposition capitalised on their chances and added goals to seal the win. Despite this, spirits remained high, with players showing resilience and teamwork. We are extremely proud of them all!
While the result was not what the team had hoped for, their attitude and perseverance shone through. Special mention goes to our goal keepers who pulled off some brave saves.
As the final whistle blew, both teams exchanged smiles and handshakes, reminding everyone that sportsmanship and fun are just as important as the score line. The coach from Curledge Street was impressed by the performance of Preston and commended their team effort.
Also, thank you to all the spectators, it was wonderful to have your support.
