Non-Fiction November
Our Reading Ambassadors have been working hard on 'Non-Fiction November'. During November they have collated some of their favourite non-fiction books from home and the school library. They have produced a brochure to share some of their recommendations.
Reading non-fiction books offers children a wealth of benefits that extend far beyond just gaining knowledge. Non-fiction exposes young readers to real-world concepts, people, and places, helping them build critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them. It encourages curiosity and a sense of discovery, as children learn about science, history, nature, and cultures.
Non-fiction books are easy to pick up because they often allow for flexible reading. You don’t have to read them cover-to-cover—each section or chapter stands on its own, letting readers focus on specific topics of interest. This means you can dip in and out, explore particular facts or ideas, and learn at your own pace without the pressure of reading the entire book in one go. We hope you enjoy the recommendations, and please support your child to visit a local library to read more non-fiction books. Thank you, Reading Ambassadors, for continuing to promote a love of reading.
